Delhi Capitals newly appointed captain Rishabh Pant gave his first interview as a team captain revealed his plans against MS Dhoni led team CSK in their IPL 2021 opening match. The two teams will play against each other in Mumbai at Wankhede Stadium on April 10.

During the interview, Pant was questioned about his showdown between him and his mentor. He expressed his thoughts and said that it is very exciting to be captaining for the first time and he is all set to play against ‘Mahi bhai’.

“I am very much excited that I’m captaining for the first time and the first game will be against ‘Mahi bhai’. So it’ll be a good experience as I’ve learned a lot from him and I have a lot of experience from my life to. So, we will try to mix that up and do something different with CSK this year,” Pant said.

Talking further about the excitement, Rishabh Pant opened up with his association of Delhi Capitals coach Ricky Ponting.

“I think he has been so amazing for us in the last 2-3 years. Whenever he comes to the team, he brings that energy and everyone are looking up to him that he might do something different. As a player, when you see your coach and you think this is the man from whom I can learn a lot. So nothing is better than that, that’s what I think. He’s doing a great job for 2-3 years and hopefully, we’ll cross the line this year with the help of Ricky Ponting and the whole team,” the new captain of Delhi Capitals said in the interview.

Answering about the feelings he has for the role of a captain, Rishabh said that he wishes to make the most of the given opportunity. He will try his best to get the title this year and will make sure that each and every player in the teams gives their 100%. He is looking forward to give his best in the upcoming season of IPL 2021.
