Eying a hat-trick of wins right at the start of the tournament, Royal Challengers Bangalore opted to bat against Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai in Match 10 of IPL 2021. Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli has gone in with only three foreign players in this match while Kolkata remains unchanged from their previous game.

It’s Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders in match number 10 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. While Virat Kohli & Co are unbeaten so far in the tournament, Eoin Morgan’s KKR comes into this game on the back of a defeat. They have lost one and won one. RCB won the toss and elected to bat first. After two early wickets, both going to Varun Chakravarthy in one over, Glenn Maxwell and Devdutt Padikkal have helped RCB recover to 45/2 after 6 overs.

After powerplay Glenn Maxwell hits his 8th half-century in IPL in 28-balls as he lifts RCB once again from a precarious position.

After seeing the red hot form of Maxwell, former English cricketer Michael Vaughan said that he loves watching Glenn Maxwell batting. “Maxwell might just end up being the player of the tournament” he added.

RCB squad sees a top-order consisting of Virat Kohli, Finn Allen, Devdutt Padikkal, Mohammed Azharuddin, and AB de Villiers, while the middle–order is relatively in-experienced with players like Washington Sundar, Rajat Patidar, Suyash Prabhudessai, Sachin Baby, Kona Srikar Bharat.

RCB will be hoping that Maxwell can justify his hefty price tag with some match-winning performances. The RCB management had said that the reason why they went hard for Maxwell in the auction was to ease the pressure of finishing matches on AB de Villiers
