A famous Indian player said in his tweet that “People don’t know this, but along with badminton, I’m a huge fan of cricket too. Especially when India is playing. Washington made a dream Test debut for the Virat Kohli-less side in the high-profile Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. Washington played an instrumental role in India’s historic series triumph on Australian soil.
The batting all-rounder was retained by the Bangalore-based franchise for the 2021 season of the cash-rich league. Kohli-led RCB will play their second match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on the 14th of April.
After that Washington Sundar also tweeted his gratitude to Saina Nehwal. The batting allrounder said that “Thank you @NSaina for the kind words. It’s good to hear such inspiring words from you”.

After the historic win, not only did India win the series, but also retained the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Even as he admitted that he was under pressure, he also mentioned the same as a special feeling.
“I was there for a months after the ODI series, it gave me an amazing opportunity to bowl on Australian soil and to improve my skillsets as well. Definitely have to thank the management for that. I got to know a day or two before the Gabba Test [that I was in the playing XI],” Sundar was quoted as saying to India Today.
“Definitely, the pressure was there but more than the pressure the excitement was honestly more. To be able to play Test cricket for India is a special feeling. Nothing can beat that. So, yes I was very excited to go to the ground and be a part of the Gabba Test,” he added.
