The 4th match for Rajasthan Royals against Royal Challengers Bangalore has begun on a disappointing note for Rajasthan Royals, again.
They’ve been invited to bat first after RCB skipper, Virat Kohli won the toss. Mumbai’s Wankhede has always been a high scoring ground for the teams but whenever Rajasthan bats, they seem to forget this very thing as again, they lost 3 wickets under first 6 overs. Skipper Sanju Samson made his way after the fall of Jos Buttler’s first wicket, and he just can’t get things right for Rajasthan Royals, both as captain and most importantly, as a batsman.
Sanju Samson, although played some positives shots and showed firm responsibility, but not for very long. He was then picked up for the score of 21 by 17 balls. Washington Sundar picked up his wicket.

After the first match’s scintillating innings, of 119 against Punjab Kings, this was the first time he played more than 10 balls in an innings. The team needed him to stay there and play with all the responsibility as they find themselves 3 down, but again he couldn’t manage to deliver for his side.

Consistency is an issue for Sanju as from IPL 2018, it has been seen that he shows good hand in first few matches, but then his form goes spiralling downwards. Now as the captain, he has an added responsibility, but from the last 3 matches (including this as well), he has been disappointing.
Captains incompetency to compete is hunting down Rajasthan’s chase for IPL 2021 title. Unless and until, somethings doesn’t change miraculously, they will keep failing their fanbase.
