A fightback from the bowlers and the 49-balls 92 runs by Shikhar Dhawan empowered Delhi Capitals to win against the Punjab Kings by six wickets at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, April 18.
The Punjab Kings opted to bowl first and raced to 122 within 13 overs but at last ended up with only 195/4 on the board, as the Delhi Capitals made a strong comeback. For Punjab, Mayank Agarwal seemed to be the aggressive opener among the two as he smashed 69 runs off 36 balls, including seven fours and four sixes. KL Rahul, the captain made just 61 in 61 balls, while Chris Gayle and Nicholas Pooran couldn’t get going.
The only player who took the spotlight though was Shikhar Dhawan as he smashed a set of 92 runs off just 49 balls. His batting performance made the Delhi Capitals win. He controlled the chase to make it seem easy, as DC reached the finish in just 18.2 overs.
