Coming off to bat first, Openers K L Rahul and Mayank Agarwal went into “big-hitting” mode right off the beginning, they mercilessly thrashed Delhi bowlers who failed to contain them from going big so much so that the duo smashed 20 runs in a single over for Lukman Meriwala, struggling Delhi bowlers continued to get worse under pressure and the Punjab openers finished a 100 run partnership and also score themselves 61 and 69 runs respectively, at the end of 20 overs Punjab kings posted a total score of 195 on the board for Delhi to Chase.

Chasing a heavy total of 196, Delhi Capitals batsmen struggled a little in the beginning as Prithvi Shaw was dismissed for just 32 runs, but Shikhar Dhawan stepped up the crease with a huge responsibility on his shoulders and went hard on Punjab’s bowlers, Shikhar Dhawan completed a timely fifty to post a solid foundation score for the team to chase a total of 196 runs, Shikhar Dhawan’s amazing inning is continuing with 10 boundaries and one sixer, with a destructive strike rate of 173.17, Dhawan has now officially turned into a nightmare for Delhi bowlers as they can’t seem to find a way to stop him as he marches toward a century.

Shikhar Dhawan also stands second in the most number of 50+ scores with 46 matches of 50+ scoring.

Although the chasing target seemed a little difficult to achieve in the beginning, Shikar Dhawan’s batting for sure has set the momentum up and running for Delhi as they hope to get a win and advance up in the points table today.
