Apart from his excellent bowling, the Caribbean Sunil Narine is also very famous for his batting skills. Sunil is known for his huge sixes and scoring lighting fast runs with boundaries. In past, he has opened the inning for Kolkata Knight Riders. But the IPL season 14 has been a dry spell with the bat for Narine.

Narine came to bat at no. 5 against the 2020 season’s runners-up Delhi Capitals. Kolkata was in trouble and had lost quick 3 wickets. 24-year old Lalit Yadav bowled out Narine and showed him the way to the pavilion. It was the second duck for him this season and the first golden duck. Narine was sent ahead of Dinesh Kartik and Andre Russell who are more reliable middle-order batsmen. But Sunil failed to show his batting skills yet again.

Sunil has now scored only 10 runs in 4 matches in this season. On all four occasions, he was sent off and came to bat either at no.4 or at no.5. After four consecutive failures with the bat, KKR will be surely looking to strengthen their middle order as they cannot rely on Narine for long if they want to qualify for the playoffs.
