Nothing new when young players in the IPL talk about their inspiration, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Yes, you heard it right. Players like Hardik Pandya, Anuj Rawat, Rishabh Pant, and many more are inspired by him.

Rajasthan Royals player Jos Buttler also shared what he felt.  Buttler said, “The emergence of a wicketkeeper captain like Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson is sole because of Dhoni.” He added by saying, “Dhoni has been a fantastic captain and there are many who want to follow in his footsteps.”

Deepak Shahar who had had a fantastic performance in the Sri Lankan series was also motivated by Dhoni. 

Chahar goes on to share that MSD had not only helped because of being the captain of the Chennai Super Kings team but also advised him about the match being in the player’s hand till the very last ball.

Lastly, the Delhi capital’s captain and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant also shed how he had learned many tips and tricks from him. Adding that, “MS is my go-to man.”

Therefore, yes it’s very clear that Mahendra Singh Dhoni has inspired and nurtured raw talents and helped them shape their cricketing career. It is exciting to see so many players emerge out so well after the kind of guidance they received from Dhoni.
