The mini auction for the Indian Premier League has concluded. The IPL 2023 mini auction had a lot of great picks. At the auction, Sam Curran went for a record-breaking Rs 18.5 crore, while Cameron Green was purchased by the Mumbai Indians for Rs 17.50 crore. Ben Stokes was sold to the Chennai Super Kings for Rs 16.25 crore, and West Indian batter Nicholas Pooran was sold to the Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 16 crore. Mayank Agarwal was the biggest winner in India, selling to Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 8.25 crore.

The league’s start date has been confirmed following the conclusion of the IPL 2023 Mini Auction. According to InsideSport, BCCI has sent an email to each of the league’s ten franchises informing them of the league’s start date. The league will begin on April 1st, according to the email. Two franchises have stated that the IPL 2023 will be delayed by a week and will not begin in March as it did last year. The mail also contains information about the first Women’s IPL. WIPL will start on March 3 and end on March 26.

The BCCI has already released the media rights tender for the Women’s IPL, but the board has yet to invite bids for WIPL franchises.

Gujarat Titans are the current Indian Premier League champions. The Hardik Pandya-led team will be looking to build on the success of their inaugural season in IPL 2022. GT made a big signing on Friday when they paid Rs 4.4 crore for Josh Little at the IPL 2023 Mini Auction. Ashish Nehra, GT’s coach, is a fan of fast bowlers. Josh Little is Irish and recently scored a hat trick at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. It will be fascinating to see how he performs in the IPL 2023.
