IPL 2025 Auction: There were many players in the Indian Premier League 2024 who performed very well and won the hearts of all the fans. However, some players who performed poorly in the last season have also included their names in the mega auction in the upcoming season. Big bids can be placed on these players in the upcoming auction. However, there are also some players who may go unsold in the upcoming season.
5 players with a probability to get unsold in IPL 2025 Auction
1- Matthew Wade
Matthew Wade made his IPL debut in 2011. Before this, he had not played a single match for Australia’s senior team. So far, this great player has played only 15 matches in the Indian Premier League in which the wicketkeeper-batsman has scored only 183 runs at an average of 13.07.
In the last three seasons of the Indian Premier League, Matthew Wade was seen playing for Gujarat Titans. In his first season for this franchise, the experienced player played 10 matches but he failed to leave his mark. Gujarat Titans’ performance was excellent this season and they defeated Rajasthan Royals in the final. Due to Matthew Wade’s poor performance in this tournament, he can go unsold in the upcoming season.
2- Keshav Maharaj
After Prasidh Krishna got injured in the Indian Premier League 2024, Rajasthan Royals included Keshav Maharaj in the team as his replacement. Keshav Maharaj took only two wickets in two matches in the IPL at an average of 19.50. In T20, Keshav Maharaj has taken only 35 wickets in 35 matches at an average of 24.17.
Keshav Maharaj has always performed brilliantly in the Test format, but the brilliant player has failed to leave his mark in T20 cricket. No franchise would like to bid on him in the upcoming season.
3- Shai Hope
Shai Hope’s performance has been tremendous in T20 cricket for some time now. He has improved his game even more and played an important role in West Indies’ victory. Hope has the ability to play aggressive shots continuously after getting set.
In IPL 2024, Delhi Capitals included this dashing batsman in their team for Rs 75 lakh. Hope scored only 183 runs in 9 matches at an average of 22.88.
This brilliant player failed to show tremendous performance in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 as well. Shai Hope had a disappointing performance in the series played against Sri Lanka. Shai Hope can strengthen the batting lineup of any team, but due to his disappointing performance in IPL, no franchise would want to bid on him.
4- Kane Williamson
Kane Williamson played only two matches for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024 in which he failed to bat brilliantly. He has played 79 IPL matches in which the experienced batsman has scored 2128 runs at an average of above 35 and a strike rate of above 125.
Kane Williamson has not been able to recover from his injury for a long time and has played very few international matches. Due to injury, Kane Williamson was also not able to participate in the recently concluded Test series against India. T20 cricket is constantly improving rapidly and this is the reason why Kane Williamson may go unsold in the upcoming season.
5- Ajinkya Rahane
Ajinkya Rahane is one of the best batsmen in the world. This experienced batsman was included in the team of Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2023 for Rs 50 lakh. In the first season, Rahane batted very well and scored 326 runs at a strike rate of above 172, due to which Chennai Super Kings won the trophy of this season.
However, Ajinkya Rahane performed very poorly in the 2024 season and could score only 242 runs in 13 matches. Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024 is starting from 23 November and according to the report, the mega auction will be held on 25 November. If Ajinkya Rahane wants the team to bid on him in the upcoming IPL season, then he will have to bat his best against Goa.
