The IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at Dharamsala was called off after being interrupted. The game started an hour late due to rain and was stopped again after about an hour because of a reported drone attack by Pakistan on India.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) chose to bat first and started the game strongly. Openers Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya hit quick half-centuries and dominated the Delhi Capitals bowlers. They added 122 runs together in just 10.1 overs.
But right after Priyansh Arya got out, one of the stadium’s light towers went off. Soon, two more towers lost power. Players and umpires left the field, and fans began moving around, which drew attention.
The crowd at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala was then evacuated. This happened because of a drone attack by Pakistan in the Pathankot area of Jammu and Kashmir, about 80 km from the stadium.

With the match being called off, both Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) got one point each. Both teams are still in the race for the playoffs, and it will be interesting to see which one makes it through.
At the toss, the PBKS captain talked about how well their batters have been playing and said it’s a big positive for the team. He added that the team is feeling confident and everyone is performing when needed. He said:
“If you see the last game, the way our openers started and other batters capitalising, that gives us a fair point to come and bat first. Essentially if you see the trend in the IPL, the players who are in form and win you matches are the team who go ahead and win the championship. That’s a great motivating factor coming down after 11 games.
The team is in high spirits right now and everyone is stepping up at the right time. Absolutely on top of the world the way things are panning. It’s important we tick the boxes right, not think about the results that much. You got to stick to your routines. We are going with the same batting line-up.”
