IPL 2025 Schedule: Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad
Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium is located in Hyderabad. It is one of the most important grounds of IPL. It is the home ground of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and has witnessed many memorable matches in the IPL. This stadium has a seating capacity of about 55,000 spectators.
This stadium is named after former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi and was completed in 2004. This ground has been very special for domestic and international cricket. Many big matches, playoffs, and finals of the IPL have been played here.
As per the IPL 2025 schedule announced by the BCCI on February 16, the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad will host the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator matches of IPL 2025.
Apart from this, since it is the home ground of Sunrisers Hyderabad, the team will also play seven of its home matches here. This means that a total of 9 matches will be played here this season, which will double the excitement for the home spectators.
This ground has been very special for Sunrisers Hyderabad. In this stadium, SRH made it to the finals for the first time in 2016 and won its only IPL title so far by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final match. Apart from this, this ground has also hosted many playoff matches, where tough competition was seen till the last over.
The pitch at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium is generally considered to be batsman-friendly, producing many high-scoring matches. However, as the game progresses, spinners also start getting help, making the contest even more exciting in the middle overs.
Dew plays an important role in night matches here, due to which the team winning the toss prefers to bowl first. If we look at the statistics, the teams chasing the target on this ground have had more success.
This stadium will again host many important matches in IPL 2025 , where Sunrisers Hyderabad will play as their home team. The first match on this ground will be played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals on March 23 from 03:00 PM.
Apart from this, the final league match at this ground will be played between SRH and Kolkata Knight Riders on May 10, while Qualifier 1 will be played on May 20 and the Eliminator match will be played on May 21.
