Punjab Kings posted a huge total of over 240 runs after being asked to bat first. The team, led by Shreyas Iyer, had a strong batting performance from most players.

One key contribution came from Marcus Stoinis, who batted at number six and supported Iyer well. Stoinis played some great shots, hitting two sixes. One of his sixes accidentally struck a female security officer walking near the boundary, causing her injury.

During the second ball of the 15th over, Mohammed Siraj bowled a length delivery, and Marcus Stoinis quickly picked up the length. Stoinis pulled the ball flat over deep mid-wicket, and it accidentally hit a security officer on her leg.

However, the real star for Punjab was captain Shreyas Iyer. Batted at number three, Iyer started the season with a bang, playing an exceptional innings and putting his team in a commanding position.

However, the real star for Punjab was captain Shreyas Iyer. Batting at number three, he played an amazing innings, starting the season strongly and putting his team in a great position.

Shreyas Iyer finished unbeaten on 97 off 42 balls, with a strike rate of 230. He hit 5 fours and 9 sixes. Shashank Singh also played a key role, scoring 44 off 16 balls, as the two added 81 runs together.

Thanks to their brilliant batting, Punjab Kings posted a huge total of 243 runs in their opening match of IPL 2025. They then bowled well to win by 11 runs and started the season on a high note.
