Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium also known as Dharamshala Stadium or HPCA Stadium is located in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. This stadium is world famous for its beauty with snow-capped mountains in its background. It has always been the second home ground of Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
History and Features of HPCA Stadium
The HPCA stadium was established in 2003 and has a seating capacity of around 23,000 spectators. It is located at an altitude of 1,457 meters above sea level, making it one of the highest cricket stadiums in India. The stadium has two ends called ‘River End’ and ‘College End’. Its natural beauty and serene atmosphere make it a special cricket ground for cricket lovers.

The pitch of Dharamshala Stadium is considered favorable for both batsmen and bowlers. Many high-scoring matches have also been seen on this ground. The pitch here helps the fast bowlers in the beginning, which makes it a challenge for the batsmen. However, as the match progresses, it becomes easier to score runs here.

Out of the 13 IPL matches played here, the team batting first has won 8, while the team batting second has won 5 matches. The record for the highest successful run chase on this ground is held by the Deccan Chargers. They scored 178/5 in 2010 while successfully chasing a target of 175 runs against Punjab Kings.
Royal Challengers Bangalore scored the highest score of 241/7 against Punjab Kings in 2024. Also, the lowest score here was registered by PBKS against Deccan Chargers in 2011.

Matches to be played at HPCA Stadium in IPL 2025
A total of three matches will be played at the HPCA Stadium in IPL 2025. All these matches will be hosted by Punjab Kings. The first match of the season will be played here between PBKS and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), the second match between the host team and Delhi Capitals and the third i.e. the final match will be played between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians (MI) on May 11. In these matches, Punjab Kings will try to perform well in front of their home fans.
