History and Features of Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium
The Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium (New PCA Stadium) was inaugurated in 2021. It is named after Maharaja Yadavindra Singh, the ninth and last ruler of Patiala. The stadium has a seating capacity of around 38,000, making it one of the major cricket grounds in the state of Punjab.
Equipped with modern facilities, this ground has a state-of-the-art drainage system, which allows the match to be started quickly in a very short time even after rain.
New PCA Stadium Pitch and Ground Information
The pitch of the Mullanpur Stadium is considered favorable for both batsmen and bowlers. Many high-scoring matches have been played on this ground so far. Five matches were played here in IPL 2024, in which Mumbai Indians scored the highest score of 192/7. Apart from this, Punjab Kings registered the lowest score of 142/10 against Gujarat Titans.
If we talk about overall T20 cricket, the highest score here was 225/3 by Bengal against Puducherry. Apart from this, the lowest score on this ground was 74 by Puducherry’s team against Vidarbha.
