MI now joins Gujarat Titans (GT), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and Punjab Kings (PBKS) as the final four to make it to the business end of the competition.

Following a dismal beginning to their IPL 2025 season, losing four of their opening five matches, Hardik Pandya’s side hit back with an astonishing six-match winning sequence. The momentum continued to their last league match against Delhi Capitals.
At the Wankhede Stadium, Suryakumar Yadav played a batting masterclass, hitting 73 off 43 balls*, which helped MI compile a fighting total of 180/5. Delhi struggled miserably in reply and were bowled out for only 121 runs, spoiling their playoff chances.

Suryakumar Yadav Stars in Do-or-Die Clash
In a must-win match, Suryakumar Yadav came up with the match-defining performance. He scored an unbeaten 73 runs, which included 7 fours and 6 sixes. He was especially good in the last few overs of the match. In the end, MI scored 48 runs in the last two overs of the match.
Delhi’s Disastrous Chase Ends Their Campaign
Delhi Capitals were not at their best without their usual skipper Axar Patel, as they became unstuck after only one powerplay. Their top order fell apart quickly, and none of the batsmen could shake off the early blows. Top scorer Sameer Rizvi made 39 runs, but Delhi were never in a position to threaten and ended up collapsing for just 121 in 18.2 overs.
