Preity Zinta, the co-owner of Punjab Kings (PBKS), was really happy after young opener Priyansh Arya played an amazing innings in the 22nd match of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL).
Preity Zinta’s Delight Over Priyansh Arya’s Sensational Knock
Priyansh Arya scored the fastest century by an uncapped player in IPL history during the match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 8 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium. From the start, Arya played aggressively, taking on the CSK bowlers despite regular wickets falling around him.
He reached his fifty in just 19 balls and then raced to his century in 39 balls, hitting a boundary off Matheesha Pathirana to complete the milestone in the 13th over. Arya celebrated by raising his arms and soaking in the applause. His teammates were thrilled, and team co-owner Preity Zinta jumped up to cheer him on.

Priyansh Arya set a record for the fastest IPL century by an uncapped player and tied for the 4th fastest IPL century overall. He also became only the 8th uncapped player in IPL history to score a century.

During the mid-innings break, Priyansh Arya said he felt great after scoring the century and shared that a piece of advice from Shreyas Iyer had helped him a lot. He said:
“I’m not expressive but getting a very good feeling from within. In the last game, Shreyas Iyer talked about backing your instincts, he suggested me to play the way I want to. I was thinking that if I get the first ball in my slot, I will definitely hit it for a six. I want to express myself as much as I can and not restrict myself.”
During the mid-innings break, Priyansh Arya said he felt great after scoring the century and shared that a piece of advice from Shreyas Iyer had helped him a lot. He said:
“(Is Indian Premier League easier or Delhi Premier League?) DPL! The ball is coming nicely onto the bat, the ball is not turning much, so we have to bowl well in the powerplay and take wickets.”
