Rohit Sharma made IPL history during MI’s match against LSG by becoming only the third opener to hit sixes off the first two balls of his innings. The others are Virat Kohli (2019) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (2023).
LSG captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and chose to bowl first. They brought in Mayank Yadav for Shardul Thakur. MI made two changes: Karn Sharma returned, and Corbin Bosch debuted as Mitchell Santner sat out due to a finger injury.
Mayank’s first over was calm, but Rohit attacked in the second, smashing two sixes. However, Mayank fought back, dismissing Rohit with a slower ball. Rohit scored 12 runs off 5 balls before getting caught by Prince Yadav.
