IPL 2025: Sai Sudharsan became the youngest player in IPL history to score over 600 runs in a single season. The previous record was held by Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill, who reached the mark at 23 years and 257 days. But in 2025, Sudharsan broke the record by doing it at just 23 years and 227 days.

He didn’t stop there – Sudharsan also became the youngest player to score 700 runs in a season.

Sai Sudharsan played a terrific knock as he amassed 80 runs off 49 balls and nearly took Gujarat Titans to Qualifier 2, but Mumbai Indians held their nerve to win the match. During his knock, Sudarshan smashed 10 fours and 1 six.

Sudharsan scored more than 750 runs in IPL 2025, finishing with 759 runs in 15 matches, averaging 54.21.

He made six fifties and one century. He also hit 88 fours and 21 sixes, with a strike rate of 156.17.

Playing his 40th IPL match, Sudharsan has scored 1,793 runs with an average of 49.80. He has made 12 fifties and 2 centuries in the IPL.

In all T20 matches, he has scored 2,271 runs from 60 games, with an average of 43.67, including 14 fifties and 2 centuries.

In six IPL matches against Mumbai Indians, Sudharsan has scored 250 runs, averaging 41.66. He has made two fifties against them, with his highest score being 80.

Chasing a big target of 229, Gujarat were under pressure right from the start as captain Shubman Gill was dismissed in the first over. Sudharsan kept the chase alive with a steady innings before Richard Gleeson dismissed him.

Batting first, the Mumbai Indians had a great start. Openers Jonny Bairstow (47) and Rohit Sharma (80) gave their team strong momentum. Their solid opening stand helped MI post a big total of 228/5.

Though the target was tough, Gujarat didn’t give up. Sudharsan led the fight, and Washington Sundar also played a key role with a quick 48 off 24 balls. But Jasprit Bumrah ended his knock with a brilliant yorker.

In the end, Mumbai won the match by 20 runs and will now face Punjab Kings in Qualifier 2.
