Shardul Thakur’s IPL 2025 Impact: A Remarkable Comeback
After that setback, he had an impressive season in domestic cricket and even joined Essex to play in county cricket. Just before the start of this IPL season, Lucknow Super Giants gave him another chance by signing him as an injury replacement for fast-bowler Mohsin Khan.
Though it’s only been two games, Shardul Thakur has already justified Lucknow Super Giants’ decision to sign him.
Shardul Thakur Also Gave A Stellar Performance Against Delhi Capitals In Season Opener
In their season opener against Delhi Capitals, he made an immediate impact by taking the wickets of Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abishek Porel. Even though LSG lost the match, Shardul received praise for his performance.
Shardul Thakur grabbed attention once again with his brilliant bowling performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday (March 27). While SRH has been tough for many pacers to bowl at, Shardul stood out, especially in the powerplay.
He started the bowling for LSG and bowled a solid first over, giving away just six runs. In his second over, he took two quick wickets, putting LSG in control. On the very first ball of the over, he dismissed the dangerous Abhishek Sharma with a short ball.
On the next ball, Shardul Thakur dismissed Ishan Kishan, who had scored a century in the previous match. For his hat-trick ball, he bowled a perfect yorker, but Nitish Reddy managed to dig it out.
Although Thakur couldn’t complete the hat-trick, his outstanding performance against SRH has earned him praise from all around.
