GT vs KKR: The toss before the IPL 2025 match between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens took an unexpected turn when commentator Danny Morrison surprised everyone with a personal question for Shubman Gill.

After KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and decided to bowl first, all eyes were on the captains for match strategies. But instead of asking about the team lineup or plans, Morrison suddenly asked GT skipper Gill if he was getting married soon. A clearly surprised Gill laughed it off and denied the rumours.

The moment quickly went viral online. While some fans found it funny, others were confused by the timing and felt the toss wasn’t the right place for such a question, especially when people were expecting updates on team changes. Interestingly, the interaction ended without any mention of GT’s playing XI.

Check out how fans reacted to it:

Talking about the match, Washington Sundar has been included in the Gujarat Titans’ playing XI. This means either Ishant Sharma or Arshad Khan will sit out, based on who Shubman Gill picks as the impact player.

On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders have made two changes – Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Moeen Ali come into the side, replacing Quinton de Kock and Anrich Nortje.

This is Shubman Gill’s first time leading GT against his former team, KKR, where he played from 2018 to 2021. Their only clash last season was washed out due to rain.

GT is currently at the top of the table with 10 points from 7 games. Meanwhile, defending champions KKR are struggling, sitting 7th with 4 losses in 7 matches.
