RCB spinner Suyash Sharma took control during Qualifier 1 of IPL 2025 against Punjab Kings at Mullanpur on May 29. The winner of this match goes straight to the final.

Suyash Sharma Turns the Game for RCB

With PBKS reeling at 59/5 by the end of the 8th over, RCB skipper Patidar introduced spin into the attack by handing the ball to Suyash Sharma. The move paid off immediately.

In his very first over, Suyash made a big impact. On his second ball, he bowled a deceptive wrong’un to Shashank Singh, who attempted a big shot but missed it completely as the ball crashed into the leg stump.

Just three balls later, Musheer Khan was trapped in front by a delivery that went straight on with the angle. The batter reviewed the decision, but ball-tracking showed three reds, confirming his dismissal. Suyash ended the over with two wickets for just two runs.

Suyash Sharma’s Bold Celebration Makes a Statement

Suyash returned in the 11th over and continued his excellent spell. This time, he removed Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis. The right-hander tried to play a sweep shot but misjudged the wrong’un and saw his leg stump rattled. With this, Suyash claimed his third wicket, firmly placing RCB in control.

RCB bowlers maintained the pressure throughout, and PBKS were bowled out for just 101 runs in 14.1 overs. Suyash Sharma finished with outstanding figures of 3 for 17, while Josh Hazlewood also impressed with 3 for 21.

Suyash’s fiery spell wasn’t the only thing that caught attention. After each wicket, he celebrated in style—tapping his chest and pointing to the ground while looking at the PBKS dugout, sending a clear message: “I’m here to stay.”

With just 102 runs needed from 20 overs, RCB are in a strong position to secure a place in the IPL 2025 final, scheduled for June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
