3 Players To Watch Out For In SRH For IPL 2025

The IPL 2025 auction is coming soon, and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has some big decisions to make. After keeping Heinrich Klaasen for INR 23 crore, SRH still has INR 45 crore left and one Right To Match (RTM) card. This RTM card can only be used for an uncapped player (a player who hasn’t played much international cricket).

SRH has retained five players – Klaasen, Pat Cummins, Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Travis Head. Now, they will want to use their RTM card wisely. Here, we’ll look at three uncapped players SRH might target with their RTM card at the IPL 2025 auction.

1. Abdul Samad

Abdul Samad, a young player from Jammu & Kashmir, is already familiar with SRH. He started playing for them in 2020, and while he was inconsistent at first, he did much better in the 2024 season, scoring 182 runs with a strike rate of 168.51.

Samad is known for his ability to score quickly at the end of the innings, making him a strong lower-order batsman. He has scored 577 runs in 50 IPL matches with a strike rate of 146.07. After his good performance in 2024, SRH might want to use their RTM card to keep him for the next season.

2. Akash Singh

Akash Singh is a left-arm fast bowler who was with SRH in 2024 but didn’t get to play. He has played for Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings before and has shown promise as a swing bowler. In seven IPL matches, he has taken five wickets, and his ability to swing the ball into right-hand batsmen makes him a valuable bowler.

Even though Akash didn’t play for SRH last season, his performance in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 has been good, with five wickets in four innings. With Pat Cummins leading SRH’s bowling, Akash could be a good backup bowler, making him a good choice for the RTM card.

3. Sanvir Singh

Sanvir Singh is an all-rounder who SRH might also consider for their RTM card. Although his IPL record is not very impressive, he has a special skill set. Sanvir can hit the ball hard and also bowl medium pace, which adds depth to both batting and bowling for SRH.

SRH picked him in 2023 for INR 20 lakh, but he hasn’t had many chances to play. Still, his aggressive batting could help SRH in the middle or lower order when quick runs are needed. His potential as both a batsman and bowler makes him an option for the RTM card.

Conclusion

As SRH heads into the IPL 2025 auction with a strong group of retained players, they will want to use their RTM card wisely on an uncapped player. Abdul Samad’s powerful hitting, Akash Singh’s left-arm swing bowling, and Sanvir Singh’s all-round abilities are three good options they might choose from.

With INR 45 crore still available and one RTM card, SRH will be looking to build a balanced team for the 2025 season. Their choices in the auction could play a big role in their success next season.
