IPL 2026: The Indian Premier League (IPL) is already in its last phase, and the race for the playoffs has intensified, as only four teams will qualify for the IPL playoffs, which will begin on 26th May. The final match will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, on 31st May.  Amid a shocking and hilarious incident that happened in the IPL.  It’s not every day that a cricketer comes face-to-face with someone who looks almost exactly like him, especially after that person goes viral at a Chief Minister’s oath-taking ceremony. Chennai Super Kings pacer Anshul Kamboj finally met the police officer whose striking resemblance to him had taken social media by storm, and the young fast bowler couldn’t stop smiling during the interaction.

While the attention during Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s swearing-in ceremony was expected to remain on the political event, CSK fans were quick to notice a police officer near the stage who looked remarkably similar to Kamboj. Within minutes, screenshots and memes flooded social media, with many joking that the CSK pacer had secretly attended the ceremony.

The viral moment soon caught the attention of fans and cricketers alike. Veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also joined the fun with his trademark humour, teasing his CSK teammate online. Even Chennai Super Kings played along, jokingly clarifying that the real Kamboj was with the squad at Chepauk preparing for their IPL clash against Lucknow Super Giants.

Reacting to the viral buzz, Kamboj admitted that even he was surprised by the similarities between the two. He revealed that his Instagram was flooded with memes and messages from fans asking whether he had attended the ceremony.Kamboj said the officer did resemble him to a certain extent, although he felt he could judge the similarity better if the policeman removed his cap. The CSK pacer laughed off the comparisons and enjoyed the unexpected attention created by the viral lookalike moment.
