The Indian Premier League of 2021 during May had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 scare. Now the IPL is all set to resume from 19th September to next month.

All the franchises, including Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Delhi Capitals have already begun setting up their training camps. The cricket tournament will be continued in Dubai like last year.

Amidst all the preparations that are underway, decisions for the 2022 tournament are also being made.

The Indian Premier League, which is currently an eight-team tournament, will become a 10-team affair from the next edition. This is confirmed in a recent meeting with officials.

The Indian Cricket Board will also get at least Rs 5000 crore with the addition of two new franchises during the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League.

It is also decided that the next IPL tournament taking place in 2022 will have players participating in 74 games.

With all these exciting updates coming in, fans are only waiting for the tournament to resume super soon!

The BCCI had also shared some guidelines and protocols to be followed for a better and safer remainder of the IPL in Dubai. Hopefully, everything will fall into place!

Phase two of the exciting tournament will begin between the Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. It will be live from the Dubai International Stadium.
