Former Indian international cricketer and captain of the Tamil Nadu squad in domestic cricket, Dinesh Karthik, is at the first spot in our list of the top four IPL players who played for both the powerhouses, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI). The wicket keeper batter, Dinesh Karthik, joined the Mumbai Indians (MI) squad ahead of the IPL 2012 edition and continued to be a mainstay for the team for two seasons, winning the title in 2013.

Karthik proved to be a gamechanger for the MI squad after scoring a total of 510* runs. Dinesh Karthik was picked up by the RCB in the IPL 2015 edition. Although the wicketkeeper batter gave his best efforts throughout the tournament, he was eventually released by the franchise in the very next edition. A couple of years later, Karthik made his comeback in the RCB’s fiery squad ahead of the IPL 2022 edition and continued to be a part of the team till the IPL 2024 season.

Hailing from Uttarakhand, Manish Pandey made his much-awaited IPL debut for the Mumbai Indians (MI) franchise in the IPL 2008 edition.

Just after a year, Manish Pandey switched sides and joined the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL 2009 edition and also became the first Indian to score a century in the IPL. Manish Pandey’s successful on-field exploits with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise undoubtedly garnered him immense fame and recognition from the IPL aficionados as well as the selectors of the other franchises, and he ended up playing for multiple teams including Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) and the Delhi Capitals (DC) in his glittery IPL career.

Indian former international cricketer, Robin Uthappa is at the third spot in our list of the top four IPL players who have been a part of both the prominent IPL teams; Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI). The batsman and wicket-keeper made his star-studded IPL debut in the inaugural 2008 edition with the Mumbai Indians (MI) and scored a total of 320 runs in the fourteen matches that he played throughout the tournament.

Although the fans of Mumbai Indians (MI) were anticipating Robin Uthappa to be a part of the MI squad for the upcoming seasons, the cricketer made an unexpected switch and joined the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) squad in the IPL 2009 edition and continued to be the team’s reliable batsman for two consecutive seasons. Robin Uthappa played for the RCB squad and scored a total of 175* and 374* runs in the IPL 2009 and 2010 editions respectively.

Although Parthiv lost his finger at the age of nine, he fought against all the odds and became the youngest wicket-keeper to represent a country in Tests in 2002.

Parthiv Patel played for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) squad in the IPL 2014 edition and amassed a total of 205* runs in 12 matches for the franchise. Parthiv Patel was acquired by the Mumbai Indians (MI) franchise ahead of the IPL 2015 edition and continued to be part of the MI squad till the IPL 2017 edition. After a three-year-long hiatus, Parthiv made a roaring comeback and returned to the RCB squad in the IPL 2018 edition and continued to be the team’s mainstay till the IPL 2020 season.
