ISSF World Cup 2025 Nicosia: Indian Shotgun Squad Ft. Maheshwari Chauhan

2 Min Read

The ISSF World Cup Shotgun 2025 will get underway from May 3-12 in Nicosia, Cyprus. Top shooters from around the world will take part in the event that is exclusively dedicated to shotgun.

India has sent a strong contingent led by Olympians Mairaj Ahmad Khan, Kynan Chenai and Maheshwari Chauhan at the ISSF World Cup 2025 in Nicosia.

The Nicosia meet comes after India’s trap and skeet contingent drew blanks in Buenos Aires and Lima, the first two ISSF World Cups of the season.

Maheshwari Chauhan, who narrowly missed a medal at Paris 2024 in the mixed skeet event alongside Anant Jeet Singh Naruka, will lead India’s charge in the women’s skeet. Naruka will not feature in this event.

In the men’s skeet, two-time Olympian Mairaj Ahmad Khan will be taking the aim while Rio 2016 Olympian Kynan Chenai will headline the men’s trap. Asian Games silver medallist Rajeshwari Kumari is among the shooters to watch in the women’s trap.

The Nicosia chapter will feature 350 athletes from 54 National Olympic Committees (NOCs). Winners in each individual event will secure a spot at the year-end ISSF World Cup Final in Doha, Qatar, this December.
