Indian cricket team defeated West Indies by 68 runs in the first T20I which was played on Friday, 29th July at Brian Lara Cricket Academy. Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma has won now 12 T20Is out of 13 games since he became captain. West Indies were brutally defeated in the ODI series and now are trailing the T20I series by 1-0.

Dinesh Karthik was named player of the match in this first T20I as his stunning knock in the end proved to be very crucial for the Indian cricket team. At one stage, India were 138/6 and then Dinesh Karthik showed his class and make India reach a huge total of 190 runs in the first innings. He also opened up about his role in the team in the post-match presentation when he was awarded with player of the match trophy.

“I have been enjoying it (finisher’s role) a lot. it is a very interesting role. It is not something that you can be very consistent with but on some days, you can make an impact on the team,” said Dinesh Karthik on his finishing role in the team in the post-match presentation telecasted on DD National (sports).
