Real Madrid continued their dream run, defeating Mallorca 4-1 in the La Liga on Sunday. This win extended their perfect start to the season, winning all the five games they played so far. Incidentally, Vinicius Junior scored for the fifth game running in the team’s win.

Earlier, Mallorca took the lead in the 34th minute of the match before Federico Valverde levelled it for the hosts. He scored the crucial goal through a brilliant solo run. Meanwhile, Vinicius put the Spanish giants ahead with another strike. Late goals from Rodrygo and Antonio Rudiger completed their fifth successive win.

Ancelloti all praise for Vinicius Junior

Talking after the match, Real head coach Carlo Ancelotti ravished praises on Vinicius for his consistent returns to Real Madrid.

Vini is a special player, for the way he plays and for his character,” said coach Carlo Ancelotti. “He has extraordinary quality.”

The match was very difficult for several reasons. There was the heat, the fact we conceded from a set-piece… All that was a bit predictable, but we finally managed to turn things around and win the game,” adds the experienced coach.

Incidentally, the former Champions league played without their injured forward, Karim Benzema, sidelined due to a thigh injury. “The team was able to overcome the absence of Karim. It’s an important confidence boost,” said Ancelotti. “(But) we hope to get him back as soon as possible.”

The victory has now left Real on 15 points with five wins from five matches. Interestingly, they are two points ahead of Barcelona, who dispatched Cadiz 4-0 on Saturday. Meanwhile, Athletic Bilbao climbed up to fourth following a 4-1 victory at second-bottom Elche.

The exciting start to La Liga season by Real Madrid is a big boost to the fans and supporters. However, a good beginning is only half done, and the former La Liga winners need to keep winning, to kiss the cup.
