Jack Draper emerged as the champion at Indian Wells Open 2025 with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Holger Rune in the final.
The win saw the Brit achieve several milestones. It was his maiden ATP Masters 1000 title after his previous biggest title which was the ATP 500 Vienna Open.
Draper was only defending 10 points in the tournament so he added 990 points to his tally while runner-up Holger Rune added 450 as he lost in the quarter-final 12 months ago.
His straight-set win over Rune helped him reach the top 10 spot in the ATP rankings for the first time in his career. The title victory has propelled the Brit to world No.7 – the highest-ranking British singles player since Murray back in October 2017.
The 23-year-old became only the fifth British man to break into the top 10 in the Open Era – joining Greg Rusedski, Tim Henman, Andy Murray and Cam Norrie.
Enroute to defeating Rune, Draper had got the better of world No 2 Carlos Alcaraz, world No 4 Taylor Fritz and fellow rising star Ben Shelton.
“I feel like I deserve it to be honest. The amount of adversity I’ve been through, the amount of sacrifices, the amount of time that the people around me have put into me, the hard work”, said Draper on the achievement after his win at Indian Wells.
“It’s an emotional feeling to know what you’ve gone through and put in and now to be able to say that I’m going to be seven in the world tomorrow – I can’t tell you how much that means to me.”
The triumph earned Draper a massive £930,000 in prize money for his two weeks’ work in Palm Springs.
