Jadon Sancho suffers a minor injury
Jadon Sancho has been relieved of his national duties with England after the forward suffered a minor injury during a training session.
He missed England’s 4-0 win over Hungary due to the injury. The wide-forward is yet to appear for England in the World Cup qualification campaign.
Jadon Sancho is expected to recover from this minor setback in time for the Newcastle United match on the 11th of September at Old Trafford. The player joined Manchester United in the summer, from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of around 77 million pounds. The 21-year-old made his full debut for Manchester United against Wolverhampton Wanderers in a 1-0 win.
Sancho has played in all three premier league matches for Manchester United, in this campaign. He came off the bench in the 5-1 win against Leeds United and the 1-1 draw against Southampton. The creative winger has not contributed any goals for the English side.
England going strong
Meanwhile, Gareth Southgate has to choose his squad from the available 23 players. England is due to play Andorra at Wembley, tomorrow night. Then, they travel to Warsaw to play against Lewandowski’s Poland side on Wednesday.
Southgate also lost Dominic Calvert-Lewin to injury before the Hungary game. He suffered a broken toe and a thigh strain and is undergoing treatment at his club. The striker has so far appeared in two matches and has scored two goals in the qualification campaign.
England leads their qualifying group by five points. The three lions are yet to be beaten in the qualifying campaign. They have won all of their first four games and have twelve points to their name. Harry Kane has scored three goals for the three-lions and he is their top scorer.
Poland and Hungary, both have seven points but, Poland is in the second position owing to a better goal difference. Albania closely trails them at fourth place with six points.
