Jannik Sinner showcased a tennis masterclass, storming into the fourth round of the Australian Open with a resounding 6-0, 6-1, 6-3 victory over 26th seed Sebastian Baez at Margaret Court Arena. The fourth seed dominated from start to finish, dropping only ten points on serve and sealing the win in 1 hour and 52 minutes. Sinner’s triumph marks his third consecutive appearance in the round of 16 in Melbourne, and he now faces a challenge against 15th seed Karen Khachanov on Sunday.

With this Grand Slam fourth-round entry, Sinner surpassed Matteo Berrettini, securing the second-most appearances by an Italian man at this stage of a major. Notably, his best major result was a Wimbledon semifinal showing last season.

In another gripping match, Daniil Medvedev crafted an extraordinary comeback story in the early hours of Friday morning at the Australian Open. Faced with an inspired Emil Ruusuvuori, Medvedev was outplayed in the opening two sets and even stood two points from defeat while serving at 4-5 in the fourth set. However, the world No.3 drew upon his experience and resilience, staging an incredible turnaround to win 3-6, 6-7(1-7), 6-4, 7-6(7-1), 6-0 in a marathon lasting four hours and 23 minutes. This marks Medvedev’s third career recovery from a two-set deficit at a major, setting up a clash with Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime on Saturday for a place in the fourth round.
