Jannik Sinner gave an emotional reply after winning an ATP end-of-season award for the second time. The Italian was chosen as the Fans’ Favourite singles player in the annual ATP Awards, winning the title for the second year in a row.
A Breakthrough Year: Jannik Sinner’s Nine Titles and Davis Cup Victory
2024 has been an amazing year for Sinner, who won nine titles, including the Davis Cup, and became World number one for the first time. Jannik Sinner is determined to keep that top spot, but in 2025, he will face a new challenge as the player everyone else is aiming to beat.
Sinner was named Fans’ Favourite for the second year in a row after impressing fans with his thrilling performances in 2024. The 23-year-old won his first two Grand Slam titles in the past year and didn’t lose a match in straight sets this season.
Fans connected with his style of play and his character both on and off the court, which earned him the prestigious award once again.
Sinner’s Heartfelt Message to Fans Ahead of the Holidays
Jannik Sinner took to his official X handle and wrote: “Thank you to all the fans around the world for voting for me. Winning this award for the second time means so much to me, especially because it’s coming directly from you.”
The ATP Fans’ Favourite Player of the Year award has been given annually since 2000. Brazil’s Gustavo Kuerten was the first to win it, followed by Marat Safin in 2001 and 2002.
For nearly two decades, the award was dominated by Roger Federer, who won it every year from 2003 to 2021. Rafael Nadal, who retired in 2022, won the award that year, and since then, Jannik Sinner has been the recipient.
In another message to the fans, Sinner said: “You are the reason why I love to play tennis. The support has been amazing throughout this whole season, thank you so much.
“See you very soon again on the court next year. I wish everyone a happy holidays, stay close with your friends, loved ones and family, because they’re the most important people, see you again soon.”
