Jannik Sinner has found a new partner for the upcoming US Open mixed doubles tournament. The men’s singles world number one will now team up with Katerina Siniakova after her original partner Emma Navarro pulled out of the tournament to compete in Monterrey, Mexico, the following week.
Jannik Sinner and Katerina Siniakova: The best of both worlds
Siniakova is the recent women’s doubles No. 1 and the pairing is expected to bring the best of both worlds to the 2025 US Open Mixed Doubles Championship.
Sinner is a four-time grand slam winner and counting. He is the reigning Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open champion. He has occupied the top spot in the ATP rankings since his debut at the summit in June of 2024.
The Italian has spent 58 consecutive weeks as world number one in ATP rankings. On the other hand, Siniakova has spent a total of 161 weeks as the WTA’s top-ranked doubles player, first claiming the honor in 2019 and most recently spending 46 weeks at the top in her fifth No. 1 stint.
While Sinner enters New York with four Grand Slam singles crowns to his name, the Czech player holds a career Grand Slam with 10 major titles in women’s doubles, including at the 2022 US Open with Barbora Krejcikova.
The 29-year-old won her first mixed doubles major this summer at Wimbledon, partnering with Sem Verbeek, and is also an Olympic gold medalist in both disciplines: She won women’s doubles gold with Barbora Krejcikova at Tokyo 2020 and mixed gold with Tomas Machac last summer in Paris.
In the US Open Mixed Doubles Championship, Sinner and Siniakova will open against Belinda Bencic and Alexander Zverev.
The US Open mixed competition will take place during Fan Week, Aug. 19-20, with $1 million in prize money awarded to the winning team.
