There was doubt about Indian star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah ‘s playing in the Champions Trophy due to injury on the Australia tour, but now the news is coming that the BCCI is going to give the final update on his playing in the next 24 hours. Hardik Pandya had to wait for ODI World Cup 2023
The Indian team selected for the Champions Trophy 2025 can be changed by February 11. The BCCI is ready to wait till the last minute to give Bumrah every chance to play. Notably, the BCCI did the same with Hardik Pandya when he suffered an ankle injury during the ODI World Cup 2023 and waited till the last minute so that Pandya could get every chance to play.
According to media reports, if there is even a 1 percent chance of Bumrah being fit, then BCCI will definitely wait for him. They did the same with Hardik Pandya and waited for about two weeks. Only after this, Prasidh Krishna was brought in as a replacement. Even when Shubman Gill was suffering from dengue, they did not think about replacement. Both the incidents happened during the tournament itself but something similar is being done in the case of Bumrah as well. If Jasprit fails to regain fitness, then the Indian team can demand a replacement from the Event Technical Committee before sending the final squad.
