Jayant Yadav, Navdeep Saini included in the team for the ODI series against South Africa

The All-India Senior Selection Committee on Wednesday confirmed Jayant Yadav as replacement for off-spinner Washington Sundar, who tested positive for COVID-19 during a camp in Bengaluru and has also included fast bowler Navdeep Saini as the backup for Mohammad Siraj.

“Sundar was supposed to travel to Cape Town with the ODI members on Wednesday and join the rest of the squad ahead of the ODI series starting January 19,” read a BCCI statement.

The Selection Committee has also included fast bowler Navdeep Saini as the backup for Mohammad Siraj, who is still suffering from the hamstring injury he sustained during the second test match against South Africa in Johannesburg. KL Rahul will be the acting captain of the ODI team in this series.
