Danish Manzoor and Hashim Majeed, two taekwondo competitors from Jammu and Kashmir, will compete for India at the Chuncheon, South Korea, World Taekwondo Octagon Diamond G4 (Olympic) ranking Championship from August 18–20.
Under the sponsorship of World Taekwondo, the Korean Taekwondo Association is hosting the competition, known as the Gangwon Chuncheon 2023 World Taekwondo Octagon Diamond Game, from August 18–20.
Both athletes were trained by Master Atul Pangotra (Coach, JKSC), who is from Kashmir. They departed on Monday night for South Korea.
Danish Manzoor is aiming for the 2020 Olympics after previously competing at the Israel Open G2 ranking event. Rajesh Pangotra, president of the J&K Taekwondo Association, thanked the two competitors and wished them luck in the competition.
The World Taekwondo Octagon Diamond Game will feature both individual and team competitions and is available to anybody with a Kukkiwon Poom or Dan Certificate. All competitors must also have a Kukkiwon Poom or Dan Certificate in order to compete in team competition.
