John Cena’s WrestleMania record: A story of wins and losses

John Cena who has the distinction of becoming a 16 time world champion in WWE, is at the end of his long WWE career. With the news of his retirement at the end of 2025, fans have become excited about his last matches. Cena began his farewell tour in January with the main objective of breaking Ric Flair’s record by winning the world title for the 17th time.

John Cena began his retirement tour by participating in the Royal Rumble 2025 where his aim was to win WrestleMania 41. However, Cena performed brilliantly in the match and stayed till the end, but was ultimately eliminated by Jay Uso, which made him the runner-up.

Determination to win the 17th title

Even after the defeat, Cena’s enthusiasm did not wane. He made it clear in the press conference that his goal of winning the 17th world title still remains. Along with this, he announced his participation in the Elimination Chamber match. This time, Cena won the match by defeating CM Punk and now he is set to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41. This match could be the most important moment of Cena’s career, as it will be his last time in WWE.
