Jude Bellingham out for 12 weeks after shoulder surgery, Real Madrid star finally ditches the brace
Jude Bellingham has finally hit pause.
After months of battling through games with a shoulder brace strapped under his shirt like a Marvel superhero in discomfort, the Real Madrid midfield dynamo has gone under the knife and now faces around 12 weeks on the sidelines.

The English star had been dealing with a nagging left shoulder dislocation since a La Liga clash in November 2023. And instead of rushing into surgery back then, he chose to tough it out, brace and all, right through Real Madrid’s hectic schedule, including their run to the Club World Cup semifinals this summer.
But now, the pain’s won. The brace has had its final tug.
“I’ve got to the point where… I’m fed up with the brace,” Bellingham said during the Club World Cup, sounding very much like a man who was done playing Robocop every week.
Madrid confirmed in an official statement on Wednesday that their 22-year-old midfield star has undergone successful surgery for his recurring shoulder issue and will now begin his rehab journey.
What games will Bellingham miss?
While the club didn’t officially slap a timeline on it, Spanish media outlets are in agreement expect Jude to be out for about 12 weeks.

That means:
He’s set to miss the Madrid derby away at Atletico in late September
He’ll also be out of the first two Champions League group stage matches
And if you’re Thomas Tuchel, sorry mate, no Jude for England’s World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia on September 6 and 9
But there’s a silver lining in this injury cloud: Bellingham should be fit in time for the season’s first El Clasico when Real Madrid host Barcelona in late October.
If all goes to plan, that’ll be one heck of a return date.
Until then, Madrid will have to find a way to cope without their engine-room maestro, who’s already become a fan favourite at the Bernabéu.
