Julian Nagelsmann will be joining Bayern on July 1 with RB Leipzig getting up to €25m including bonuses as compensation. The 33-year old German coach took RB Leipzig to semi-finals of Champions League and has lead the team to 2nd place in the domestic league this season. He is already considered one of the best coaches in the world.

Julian Nagelsmann will be replacing Hansi Flick, who will be leaving with a record 7 trophies in 1.5 years of his managerial career at Bayern. Flick decided to leave the Munich club this season after several disagreements with sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic. Reports also suggest, that he has been offered a job as a German National Team manager.

Bayern president Herbert Hainer, on appointment Nagelsmann said “Julian Nagelsmann stands for a new generation of trainers. Despite his young age, he has had an impressive career. We are convinced that with Julian Nagelsmann we will build on the great successes of the past few years.”

Bayern president also thanked Hansi Flick for his services as he said- “The past two years will be unforgettable for me. I really enjoyed the emotions, the victories, the titles, but also the daily work on the pitch – it was an outstanding time.”

He also added” Success can only be achieved together! A coach is nothing without his team and I was lucky enough to meet fantastic players here in Munich and a staff and a team of coaches that did incredible things. Thank you guys!””
