The second Indian player Williamson chose was Shubman Gill, who is also the vice-captain of India’s white-ball teams. Gill is seen as one of the brightest young talents in Indian cricket and has performed well in all three formats.

He is currently the No.1 ranked batter in ODIs and has also played key roles in Test and T20I victories for India with his consistent performances.

Kane Williamson also included Rachin Ravindra in his Fab Five. The young New Zealand batter has already made a strong impact across all three formats of the game.

Along with Ravindra, Williamson picked Harry Brook from England and Cameron Green from Australia to complete his list.

“The five players that come to mind would be Yashasvi Jaiswal (India), Shubman Gill (India), Rachin Ravindra (New Zealand), Harry Brook (England) and Cameron Green from Australia,” Williamson said on the ‘Bombay Sports Exchange’ podcast, as quoted by TOI.

Kane Williamson also spoke about New Zealand’s approach to cricket, saying that while the team is often seen as the “nice guys” or called the “underdogs,” they focus on being genuine and building real connections with people. Elaborating on the same, he said:

“The line is not the same for everybody, and everybody comes from different places, different environments, and different cultures. We have had that nice guy tag or many tags like underdog,” Williamson said.

“But it is never a focus for us. It is trying to be more authentic and connect with our people in a really good way, our fans, and it’s great to hear that we have adopted a few billion hopefully here in India, which is helpful just to add to our five million in New Zealand.”
