The 3rd match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) featured Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) taking on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The match started with SRH captain David Warner winning the toss and choosing to bowl first. One of the most surprising moments was when Kane Williamson didn’t get a chance to play for his team SRH against KKR.
However, Off Spinner Harbhajan Singh made a debut for the KKR after playing for CSK & MI in earlier editions of IPL.
Starting the Innings, KKR shocked everyone by sending Nitish Rana as an opener with Shubhman Gill, Even after having Rahul Tripathi in the team. But Not failing on the expectations, Rana absolutely conquered the SRH bowling attack and scored 80 runs off 56 balls including 9 Fours And 4 Sixes. After Which Rahul Tripathi & Dinesh Karthik took the matter into their hands where Tripathi played a blistering knock of 53 off 29, Karthik too was in an indifferent mood as he scored 22 off just 9 balls. These knock helped the team KKR post 188 on the board and SRH while Chasing lost the match by 10 Runs and all the hard work of Lone Warrior Manish Pandey Who played a knock of 61(44) went in vain.
