KL Rahul has been selected India's vice captain for the Test series against South Africa.

Indian cricket team travelled to England for the fifth and final Test match against them which was postponed due to COVID-19. India will face England in the final Test match of the 5-match Test series on 1st July, 2022 which was started last year.

BCCI has already announced the squad for this Test match against England. Indian opener KL Rahul will miss this Test match because of the injury he picked up in training before the 5-match T20I series against South Africa. He picked up a groin injury before the series started in India and thus he was ruled out from the series. Rishabh Pant was named as the captian then instead of KL Rahul.

However, KL Rahul won’t be staying in the country when India will be in England for the last Test match. Rahul reportedly needs a proper treatment and thus it is likely that he will be in Germany for his treatment. Indian team will name the replacement of opening batter KL Rahul very soon and BCCI will announce it on their website. Some of the players namely Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Mohammad Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, etc have already travelled to England for this Test match. India are currently leading this series by 2-1.
