EA Sports has officially announced the overall ratings of some of the top stars in EA FC 26. Among the most talked about names are Lamine Yamal and Vinicius Jr. Both players had very different seasons last year, and that has been reflected in their ratings for the new game. One has received a huge upgrade, while the other has faced a small downgrade.
Lamine Yamal gets a big upgrade
After a fantastic season with FC Barcelona, where he lifted both LaLiga and the Spanish Cup, Lamine Yamal has seen a massive jump in his rating. From an 81 overall in FC 25, the youngster now stands at an impressive 89 in EA FC 26. At just 17, he is already rated among the best wingers in the game, making him one of the most exciting cards for players to try out.
Vinicius Jr downgraded despite strong reputation
Vinicius Jr, on the other hand, did not enjoy his usual high standards last season. With no major trophies to his name, he has been slightly downgraded from 90 to 89. While the drop is small, it shows how competitive EA FC ratings can be, especially when comparing him to rising stars like Yamal.
Stat-by-stat comparison: Yamal vs Vinicius
Even though both share the same 89 overall rating, their in-game stats tell a different story.
| Attribute | Lamine Yamal | Vinicius Jr |
| Pace | 85 | 95 |
| Shooting | 81 | 84 |
| Passing | 86 | 81 |
| Dribbling | 90 | 91 |
| Defending | 23 | 29 |
| Physicality | 53 | 69 |
Both players come with five-star skill moves, but there’s a key difference in weak foot ability. Vinicius Jr has a four-star weak foot, while Lamine Yamal is limited to three stars, which could affect gameplay in crucial moments.
What makes Vinicius stronger?
The biggest factor is pace. With 95 speed and the Quickstep+ PlayStyle, Vinicius will feel much faster and sharper on the ball. His ability to cut inside or run behind defenses makes him one of the most dangerous attackers in the game. On top of that, he can also play both as a winger and as a striker under the new FC IQ system, making him more versatile than Yamal.
