Lando Norris “Not Really Looking Forward” To Las Vegas Grand Prix 2025

4 Min Read

Lando Norris, the current championship leader, has had a blast in the last few races, but he recently opened up about the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix 2025, saying that he’s “not really looking forward to it.” So, what exactly did he say, and why isn’t he confident about the legendary race? Let’s find out.

Lando Norris “Not Really Looking Forward” To Las Vegas Grand Prix 2025

Lando Norris explained that in past years, McLaren has found Las Vegas to be a tough challenge. He said the track and the conditions don’t really suit their car, making it difficult for the team to put up the kind of performance they want.

“I think it was our worst race last year, so I’m not really looking forward to it. We know Mercedes were incredibly strong there last year, as well as Red Bull and Ferrari. I think we were at the bottom of those four. Obviously, we’ve improved a lot of things this year, so I’m not going to be too negative about it.” he said

Another factor Norris mentioned is that Las Vegas is one of the most demanding races on the calendar. The street circuit, combined with the night race under bright lights, creates a unique atmosphere but also makes the race physically and mentally draining. This takes a toll on drivers, especially when they know the competition is fierce, and every second counts. So, it’s no surprise that Lando Norris admitted he’s feeling a bit wary of what’s to come.

“I can say what I want. I can think what I want. I always try and be as honest as I can be. If I don’t think we’re going to be quick, I don’t think we’re going to be quick. And I’m not saying I’m going to be 10th. I’m just saying I think it’s going to be difficult to win. We were a long way off; just go and look at the data from last year. Look at the race traces, we were miles off,” Norris concluded.

Despite this, Norris still has his eyes set on the bigger picture. He’s been having a great 2025 season and remains focused on challenging the top drivers like Max Verstappen and his fellow teammate Oscar Piastri, who is 24 points behind him currently.

We all look forward to seeing how Lando Norris and McLaren perform in the bright lights of the Vegas strip. Will this race turn out to be a breakthrough for them, or will the challenges hold them back again? Only time will tell, but one thing’s certain: Norris will be pushing hard, even if he’s “not really looking forward” to it.
