Levi Colwill Says Chelsea Can Win the Premier League or Champions League After Club World Cup Glory
Fresh off becoming world champions, Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has thrown down the gauntlet, claiming the Blues are ready to win either the Premier League or the Champions League as soon as next season.
And honestly? After what just happened at MetLife Stadium, who’s laughing now?
The 22-year-old started in Chelsea’s shock 3-0 demolition of Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup final, a performance that crowned Enzo Maresca’s side as world champions for the next four years, thanks to FIFA’s newly-expanded format.
Levi Colwill: “They thought I was crazy…”
When asked if Chelsea can now use this as a springboard to compete for bigger domestic and continental honours, Colwill didn’t flinch:
“Yeah, definitely.”
He doubled down on his belief, saying:
“I said at the start of this tournament that our plan is to win it and people looked at me as if I was crazy. So I’m going to say the exact same thing now going into the Premier League and Champions League.”
And hey, if winning the biggest FIFA tournament ever isn’t proof that Chelsea mean business, what is?

“This is the biggest trophy I’ve ever won. I think the Club World Cup will be bigger than the Champions League and we were the first team to win it.”
“It was a statement victory and, in the future, if we keep winning trophies then everyone will give us the love that we deserve.”
“But we’ll only know that in the future. I think we’re ready and we’ll see next season.”
Chelsea’s Comeback Year Under Maresca
Let’s not forget, Chelsea finished fourth in the Premier League last season and also won the Conference League, not a bad debut campaign for manager Enzo Maresca, who many doubted could handle the Stamford Bridge pressure cooker.
The Club World Cup win now marks the club’s first major global trophy since 2021, and a serious moment of validation for co-owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.
Sure, their recruitment strategy, signing half the European U21 talent pool on 8-year deals, has had its critics. But Levi Colwill believes it’s finally paying off.
“We’re a team and that’s in the Chelsea identity. You stick together no matter what. I think players like John Terry, Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, they started that and we’re carrying it on.”
“They were all amazing players, the best players who won a lot but we’ve got the best players in our team – young players for sure – and that’s our plan: to win the biggest trophies for Chelsea.”
“We’re definitely capable of doing it. I think we’ve shown that. Everyone said that PSG were the best team in the world but we won 3-0.”

Final Word
From Conference League winners to world champions, Chelsea are no longer the punchline, they’re back in the conversation. And if Levi Colwill’s confidence is anything to go by, they might just be lifting more than one trophy next season.
Watch this space. The Blues are cooking.
