Lewis Hamilton has been having a disappointing run in the MotoGP 2025. Read this article to know what former racer has to say about his reitrement.

Lewis Hamilton’s much-anticipated move with Ferrari for the F1 2025 season was supposed to be a comeback and mark a new legendary chapter in his career. However, as the fate would have it, it’s been a period marked by frustration, struggle, and disappointing performances. His start with Ferrari has been far from a fairytale.
After five race weekends, he has struggled to even finish in the top five in all of them. His best performance came at the Bahrain GP, where he finished fifth, while other races have seen him in seventh position or lower. He was also disqualified at the Chinese GP, and all these reasons combined have been fueling speculations regarding his retirement.
Ralf Schumacher On Lewis Hamilton’s Retirement
Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher suggested Lewis Hamilton could make a “sudden decision” to retire at the end of the 2025 season due to his performance, if he does not improve. He said, “He just can’t cope with the car. We talk a lot about Lando Norris, but it’s almost worse with him. You can see that he’s really slumped over. If you’re standing there at some point and have no more resources and are permanently slower, then you lose everything.”
“I know from my own experience: if it goes on like this, it’s no fun anymore. Then at some point, he wakes up in the morning and thinks to himself: ‘Why am I doing this to myself? I’m no longer having fun, I can’t do it anymore. I’m getting in the way of my team.’ If it goes on like this, there’s a risk that at some point he’ll say: ‘Look, I don’t want this anymore. I want to live my life now, I’m 40 years old. I’m so rich, I’m not doing this to myself anymore. Obviously it’s not working out for some reason” he added
Lewis Hamilton’s Incredible Career
Lewis Hamilton is now over 40 years old and has had numerous accolades to his name in a career that spans over two decades. He won seven world championships, tied with Michael Schumacher for the most titles of all time. Lewis Hamilton holds 105 career wins, a record that still stands strong. He also holds 104 pole positions, which is also a record.
His dominance in the sport, particularly during his 12-year stint with Mercedes, has redefined the sport and set benchmarks that will be hard to break in the coming years. As the 2025 season unfolds, questions about Lewis Hamilton’s future remain uncertain. Nevertheless, if he decides to retire, he would do so as one of the most celebrated drivers in the history of Formula 1.
