foemer Barcelona star Lionel Messi has said he has no doubt on who will be the Ballon d’Or winner of this year. He feels Karim Benzema had a great year and deserves to have this trophy. However, the last season’s Ballon d’Or winner (Lionel Messi) is himself not in the list this year.
This was the first time in 17 years that Lionel Messi is not been included in the Ballon d’Or nominees list.
“Ballon d’Or? There are no doubts; it’s very clear that Benzema had a spectacular year,” said Lionel Messi via Argentine Television.
Karim Benzema has won so many trophies last season as his team Real Madrid won La Liga, UEFA Champions League and now they recently won the UEFA Super Cup. Benzema was also the top scorer of UEFA Champions League (2021/22).
