Latvia’s Kristers Aparjods, who sits in fourth, will also be hoping to move up the World Cup rankings as well as reaching the European Championships podium.

Other Latvians who will be looking to make a strong case at the Luge European Championships 2025 in Winterberg are the doubles pairing of Martins Bots and Roberts Plume, who are leading the World Cup rankings.

In the women’s field, Germany’s Julia Taubitz, who despite winning five World Championships golds has never been victorious at the European Championships, would fancy to top the podium in singles in Winterberg. She is in third place in the World Cup standings.
