The Chessable Masters 2025 is the first leg of the Champions Chess Tour, an online global chess tournament organized by Chess.com. It started on 16 February, and the finals took place yesterday 21 February 2025. As expected, the king, Magnus Carlsen, reigned again and won the title by defeating Hikaru Nakamura in a match that lasted for less than an hour.

The tournament took place just after the conclusion of the Freestyle Grand Slam Tour, the finals of which were held on 15 February, where the 20-year-old Vincent Keymer emerged victorious. Magnus Carlsen could not make it to the finals after being defeated by the champion, Keymer.

However, he finished in third position, and Hikaru Nakamura was also a part of the tournament. Carlsen also defeated him in the Freestyle tournament, so victory in this event was an easy win.

Carlsen will take home a total of $25,000 and 100 tour points, while Nakamura will get $20,000 and 80 tour points. The second leg of the Champions Chess tour will take place from 18 May to 23 May. The format will be the same as the first leg and will feature a Play-In stage with a nine-round Swiss format. This will be followed by a double-elimination knockout phase.
